RJ Abarrientos got the better of former Gilas Pilipinas backcourt runningmate SJ Belangel in the derby between two young Filipino imports as Ulsan Hyundai Phoebus beat Daegu KOGAS, 81-71, in the Korean Basketball League on Friday, Oct. 28.

Abarrientos continued to impress, dropping 17 points built on three triples along with three rebounds and three assists to lead the way for Phoebus while fellow import Gauge Prim provided support with 15 points and five rebounds.
Lee Woo Seok chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds while Kim Young Hyun added 11 as Ulsan hiked its record to 4-1
Belangel, on the other hand, also made a good account of himself with 13 points on a 5-of-10 clip from the field. Senegalese import Youssou Ndoye paced the Pegasus with 14 points and 12 rebounds but were not enough as the team now fell to a 1-4 slate.
Over the other games, still without Filipino import Rhenz Abando, Anyang KGC squeaked past Changwon LG Sakers 83-79. Justin Gutang was still benched as the Sakers fell to a 3-2 record while Anyang solidified its spot atop the standings with a 5-1 slate.
Another Filipino in Ethan Alvano also emerged victorious last Thursday, Oct.27, when his Wonju Dongbu Promy defeated Seoul Samsung Thunders, 94-81.
The former Alab Pilipinas guard helped orchestrating the offense for Wonju with 11 assists on top of his eight points while import Dewan Hernandez exploded for 30 points.
