Utah Jazz star Jordan Clarkson is putting his faith in Kai Sotto as the young prodigy continues to work his way to making it into the NBA.

After teaming up with Sotto during the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers, Clarkson commended the play style and the development that the 20-year-old wunderkind had shown.

Clarkson and Sotto showed a glimpse of their connection and created a one-two punch with their fastbreak execution and highlight real-worth plays.

The Jazz guard offered some wise words for the NBA aspirant, who is set to return to the Adelaide 36ers in Australia’s National Basketball League.

“Stay with it, not to be down, give up or anything. I think he has a bright future,” said the 30-year-old Clarkson. “He’s young. He’s just learning, getting a way to be stronger. [Just] put some time in as he grows into the player he is.

“He’s very skilled, [can] catch the ball, he can space the floor, put the ball, [and] on the ground can make plays. He can shoot it well and space the floor so yeah, the sky is the limit for him.”

For as long as Sotto keeps working for his progress, Clarkson believes that the Las Pinas native cager can make his dream come true.

After all, Clarkson, who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year honor in 2021, was actually drafted in the NBA at 22 years of age.

He was selected 46th pick overall by the Washington Wizards but got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I didn’t make it in the league when I was 21, 22 years old so I think he has time,” said Clarkson.

If anything, the Filipino-American star is one proud senior to Sotto as someone who continues to strive for the better to make it into the NBA.

“I’m proud of Kai. With what I see, when I first saw him coming out of high school, seeing him now he’s taking a step in the right direction. So I am happy for him, can’t wait to see him continue to grow.”

The 7-foot-3 Sotto announced his recommitment to the 36ers last month, returning to the Australian league for his second season after being left undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. ##
