Duane “Kelra” Pillas believes he is the best sniper in the MPL Philippines Season 9 when using hero Beatrix following his savage highlight in Game 3 of Omega Esports’ 2-1 victory over Blacklist International on Saturday, March 12.

Asked who’s the better sniper between him and rival and M3 World Championship MVP Kiel “Oheb” Soriano during the post-game interview, Kelra said the only reason why Oheb has the ‘Filipino Sniper’ title is because he didn’t participate in the M3.

“Syempre po ako, ako pa rin po yung pinakamagaling mag-Beatrix sa lahat, sa buong Pilipinas di lang po ako kasali ng M3 kaya siya yung tinawag na Filipino sniper,” said the flamboyant gold laner.

He has the performance to back up the claim as he scored his second career savage at the expense of the M3 World Champions.

With Blacklist making the gamble of contesting Omega’s Lord take, Kelra made sure to punish the attempt by securing the first three kills on Kevier’s Lancelot, Dex Star’s Estes and Oheb’s Brody.

Kelra scored the maniac against Edward’s Uranus before the he tracked down Hadji’s Pharsa with Beatrix’s Renner ultimate to complete the five-man wipe.

“Masaya po kasi dapat makakasavage na rin po ako nung last nung laban po namin sa Onic kaso Lord po yung isa so di counted, tapos ngayon nakasavage na po,” said Kelra.

“Nung una po pagkatutok ko po ng sniper babarilin ko na po sana eh kaso po ang likot bali napredict ko na po na kung ilang segundo yung ibon napredict ko po kung kailan babagsak, dun ko po binaril,” he recalled.

Omega’s victory over its nemesis Blacklist came a day after it absorbed a stunning defeat at the hands of the cellar dwellers Bren Esports. Kelra admitted that the loss was bitter pill to swallow for the squad and they are eager to bounce back against Blacklist.

His rivalry with Blacklist counterpart also gave Kelra the extra-motivation to heading into the match.

“Napagmeetingan din po namin kagabi na natutunan po namin na wag maging kampante kahit sino kalaban, and ako po kasi gigil po talaga ako kay Oheb eh, bawing-bawi po ako e,” he added.

Nonetheless, whether against Blacklist or other teams, Kelra said scoring a savage in the high-level competition is a huge boost to his confidence.

“Nakakataas po ng kumpyansa kapag nakakasavage.”
