After struggling in the first two weeks of the tournament, Christian “Raizen” Sumagui showed up for Omega Esports in its 2-1 victory over M3 runner-up Onic Philippines.

It was actually Raizen who starred in the Omega’s 11-7 Game 1 win where he finished with a 4-1-5 KDA on the Lancelot. He followed that up with a 4-3-9 score line on the Ling in the second game although Omega failed to sustain its hot start en route to a 15-19 Game 2 defeat.

Raizen was also a vital cog in the thrilling victory in Game 3 as he was among the players left standing for Omega in its final base defense which led to Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Maniac. The crew then went for the one-way push on the other end to notch its first win of the season.

For Coach Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos, Raizen’s stellar performance in the match can be credited to the daily pep talk the sophomore is receiving from his coaches and veteran teammates.

“Ginisa namin siya, kinausap namin siya. Araw araw namin siya kinakausap tsaka tinuturuan, lahat kami, ako ch4knu, e2max pati yung main coach namin dito sa Smart Omega si Otit lagi niya kinakausap si Raizen,” said Pakbet during the post-game presser.

“Binibigyan namin siya ng confidence na laruin niya yung laro mo para wala kang problema kaya maganda yung pinakita nya,” he added.

That confidence finally translated to a victory for Omega which lost its first three games in the season in the first two weeks all via 2-0 sweeps.

Coach Pakbet believes his team finally found its winning form evident in its gutsy performance over Onic PH.

“First two weeks namin nag aadjust pa kami, sobrang layo ng laro namin ng nakaraan,” explained Pakbet.

“Ngayon kasi sobrang bago na talaga eh sobrang bilis na ng game kaya di na kami nakaka-comeback kaya ang ginawa namin inadjust namin yung play namin,” he said.
