
Alvin Barbero toppled England’s Isa Ishtaiq, 3-1, to reach the knockout stage of the 2022 World Snooker Federation Open Championship in Sheffield, England on Monday.
Barbero, a silver medalist in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, dominated the last two racks to untangle from a 1-all count and advantage to the next phase.
He finished the group stage with a 2-1 win-loss card on a defeat against Tyleer Rees of Wales, 3-2, and a victory by default over Lhabouze Guillaume of Belgium.
The 300-player tournament offers 7,500 GBP (around P500,000) to the champion.
