Just like a mighty phoenix, TNC Predator is looking to rise from the ashes and bounce back from a dismal DPC SEA Winter Tour I showing.

TNC, which went on a rebuild prior to the start of the season, failed to keep its Division I status after finishing dead last in the DPC SEA League with a lowly 1-6 win-loss record.

“As we fall to the Lower Division, we will strive to get better and climb our way back in the Upper Division. This may not be our season but that doesn’t mean our flames are fully extinguished,” said in a statement.

“We will continue to aim for the Aegis. It will be hard and painful but that makes it more worthy of all the effort and sacrifice,” it added.

TNC had a forgettable start in the season with five straight losses early on before finally getting its breakthrough win against OB Esports X Neon last Wednesday.

The squad actually still had a slim chance of climbing its way up to the standing if it wins against Team SMG and the teams like Execration and Motivate.Trust Gaming loses all of its remaining games. TNC was hoping against hope that it could force a three-way or four-way tie at the bottom of the standing and get the better positioning in the end.

That scenario however was doomed after TNC fell to Team SMG, 2-1, on Thursday which formally dropped them to the Division II.

The PH-based esports team seemed to ran out of steam after forcing a deciding Game 3. TNC, which won Game 2 behind the efforts of Levi “YoungGod” Lagaret’s 11-0-10 performance on the Tiny, was completely shut down during the winner-take-all.

Yeik Nai “MidOne” Zheng and Kam Boon “Moon” Seng connived for Team SMG to deal TNC a thorough beatdown, 37-8, in Game 3 and end any hopes of salvaging the season for the Phoenix.

“For now, we will get back to the drawing board and start planning for the next season. See you in Division II,” said TNC.
