RSG Philippines gold laner Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog is taking a one-season break in the MPL Philippines Season 9, his team announced on Monday, Jan.10.

Iy4knu was the latest MPL player to take a break in the upcoming season, joining Blacklist International stars Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, Bren Esports’ CJ “Ribo” Ribo, and former TNC player Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo.
“Iy4knu has decided to take a break from the competitive scene for one season. He is still part of RSG Philippines but will be inactive. RSG respects this and fully supports his decision,” wrote RSG PH in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
RSG signed Iy4knu last season after he was released by Onic Philippines where he played for four seasons since joining the league in MPL PH S4.
“The Kingslayer will see you in Season 10,” the statement added.
The former M1 representative formed a deadly one-two punch with RSG super rookie Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto which allowed the squad to secure a spot in the playoffs in its very first season in the league.
The Season 8 newcomers were even dubbed as league’s Kingslayers after huge victories against the likes of Bren Esports, Omega Esports and Onic Philippines. RSG’s stellar season however ended at the hands of Nexplay Evos in the play-in playoffs, finishing at the 5th – 6th spots in S8.
