Bren Esports retooled roster will feature young guns who will reinforce the M2 Champion trio of Allan “Lusty” Castromayor, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and David “Flaptzy” Canon for the MPL Philippines Season 9.

Bren announced its full roster on Wednesday, Jan. 12 as it introduced six new faces to the squad.
Leading the new additions were former Arkangel Esports trio of Kenneth “Saxa” Fedelin, Marco “Super Marco” Stephen and Vincent “Joy Boy” De Guzman who were coming off a number of championships runs in the amateur leagues.
Former SV Empire players Dale Rolan “Stowm” Vidor and Vincent “Pandora” and former Sunsparks gold laner Jomari “Jowm” Pingol completed the cast that also has last season’s holdover and up-and-coming jungler Muj “Lord Malikk” Malik.
“The long wait is over. Our MLBB squad has arrived! Make way for Joy Boy, SUPER MARCO, Saxa, Pandora, Stowm, and Jowm, our newest additions to our lineup,” Bren wrote in its announcement.
Bren underwent a rebuild after a dismal Season 8 where the squad failed to advance to the playoffs for the first time in its franchise history.
The M2 championship quintet of Phewww, Lusty, Flaptzy, Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno and CJ “Ribo” Ribo failed to live up to the billing in the last two season since winning the world championship crown.
The squad failed to defend its crown in Season 7 before it stumbled in S8 finishing at 7th place with a 5-9 record. The team’s recent struggles led to the series of shock off-season movements which include the departure of its star jungler and M2 MVP Karltzy to ECHO and the one-season hiatus of veteran gold laner in Ribo.
Bren also released Raven “L3Bron” Alonzo, Dwine “Rimuru” Enriquez, and long-time reserve Efphraim “Ejhay” Sambrano. M3 championship member Mico “Coco” Sampang was also left out of the Season 9 squad.
Bren champion coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro will remain at the helm for Bren as he banks on the leadership of veterans Pheww and Lusty to spearhead the young squad.
