Jason Brickman

Jason Brickman continues to help his team maintain top spot in one of Taiwan’s two professional cage leagues.

The Fil-American guard led the Kaohsiung Aquas to two victories over the weekend to raise their record to 8-1 in the T1 League.

He had 12 points, five rebounds, eight assists and three steals in the Aquas’ 93-76 win over the New Taipei CTBC DEA before posting 12 points, two rebounds, nine assists and four steals in defeating the Tainan Ghosthawks, 96-83.

Brickman signed with Kaohsiung last September after failing to become eligible in last year’s PBA Draft.

Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Jordan Heading and the Taichung Suns have a 3-5 slate after splitting their two games.

Heading scored 25 points and added seven rebounds in a 91-84 loss to the Taiwan Beer Herobears but the Suns bounced back with a 101-74 rout of Taoyuan Leopards, putting up 22 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Taoyuan fell to a league-worst 1-6 record, putting the waste to another strong showing from Fil-Am Caelan Tiongson.

Tiongson, who once played for Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League, registered 27 points and 17 rebounds for the Leopards.
