It was a total team effort for the Filipinos as they got their own moments in the two-map sweep of Crazy Racoons to notch their first series win in the tournament and set up another crucial encounter, this time, against Team Vikings for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Team Secret proved that its Map 1 win over highly-touted Gambit Esports in its first match was no fluke as the Filipinos embarked to another blistering start once again.

Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza’s Omen put on the work and made the huge plays early on as the Filipinos took a commanding 8-4 lead at the half.

Kevin “Dispenser” Te on the Cypher and Riley “witz” Go on the Raze then took turns in punishing the Japanese side in the second half as Secret took full control of the map while on the defenders’ side. TS closed out the first map with a 4-1 score line in the second half to finish off Crazy Racoon in its own map pick with a 13-5 domination in Split.

Witz led the rout with team-high 18 kills on a 2.3 KDA while Borkum also shone with a steady 3.0 KDA performance in the series opener.

The Filipinos showed no let up in its own map pick in Haven, and dominated the struggling Racoons. Secret pulled away from a tight 2-2 start as Dispenser on his Killjoy and Jessie “JessieVash” Cristy Cuyco on his Sova took over for the Filipino champions to take a huge 10-2 advantage at the half.

Crazy Racoon tried to put up a fight and show some resistance but the Filipinos were just on point with Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan also coming alive on the Jett in the second half.

Secret only needed three rounds after the switch as Borkum’ Astra put the icing on the cake by scoring clutch in the final round to close out the series, 13-2.

Jessivash top scored the map with 15 kills although he got ample support from Dispenser and Witz on the Breach with 2.9 and 2.6 KDAs respectively.
