Blacklist International head coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza is looking forward to complete his team’s own Cinderella run when it faces fellow Filipinos squad Onic Philippines in the Grand Finals of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang M3 World Championship.

Bon Chan hopes his team could take the crown after climbing their way through the lower bracket, similar to Bren Esports’ journey during its title run in the M2 World Championship earlier this year.
Just like Blacklist in M3, Bren also fell to the lower bracket after suffering a loss in the first day of the playoffs. The team then led by prodigy Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno took down teams in the lower bracket one-by-one including its MPL Invitational nemesis Alter Ego before beating RRQ Hoshi to reach the Grand Finals against Burmese Ghouls.
Incidentally, Blacklist also had beaten their MPLI tormentors Onic Indonesia, and heavy favorites RRQ on their way to the Grand Finals.
“Sobrang saya nmin kasi mukhang marereplicate rin namin ‘yung ginawa ng Bren na napunta rin sa lower. Sana mareplicate rin namin yung ginawa nila kung saan yung championship nanggaling rin sila sa lower bracket,” said Bon Chan in an interview following the team’s 3-1 victory over BloodThirstyKings in the lower bracket finals.
“Disaster yung nangyari sa amin nung first day ng playoffs, never namin inexpect na mapupunta kami sa mas mahabang road, ang akala talaga namin dun kami sa short cut,” said Bon chan pertaining to the first-round upper bracket loss against BTK.
Bon Chan also hopes to prevent their Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) Grand Finals loss from happening again especially that they will be facing another formidable Filipino team.
“Syempre ayaw naming maulit yung nangyari sa MSC na kagaya nun kami ang umubos sa Indo, pero EXE ang nakinabang sa championship,” said Bon chan whose Blacklist team went unbeaten in the whole tournament only to bow against Execration, 3-1, in the Grand Finals.
“Ito na yung pinakamalaking achievement namin, kaya hangga’t maari isesecure namin ito,” he stressed.
