A red-hot Team Secret sustained its blistering run by scoring its third 2-0 sweep, this time against Japanese squad Sengoku Gaming in their group stage clash of the Horizon Cup at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

The Filipinos were methodical in the two-game stretch, dissecting the Japanese champions with relative ease to notch their third straight win and secure a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Team Secret displayed a textbook execution of its split-push strategy in Game 1. The Filipinos put on the pressure on all of the lanes to get the space they needed to secure the jungle objectives.

Eleazar “Azar” Salle on the Jax and Robert “Trebor” Mansilungan on the Lee Sin took turns in split pushing the top and the bottom lanes as Sengoku looked in disarray with their turrets getting taken down one by one.

TS seemed to be outnumbered during a 4 vs 5 clash near the Dragon pit and with Azar split pushing at the top lane. The Filipinos, however, still prevailed as Trebor, who finished with a 4-0-3 KDA, punished the Japanese side with a triple kill to help Team Secret draw the series first blood on a dominant 10-1 win.

Sengoku showed some resistance, holding its own against TS in the early going of Game 2 by punishing James “Hamezz” Santos’ Jana. Trebor, once again on the Lee Sin, took some crucial pick-offs to slowly give the Filipinos the lead.

The Filipinos then seized control of the game after a team fight in the mid lane near SG’s second tier turret where TS scored a four-man wipe to take a huge 10k gold advantage at the 11-minute mark.

It was all Team Secret from that point as Chewy, who unloaded a 6-1-11 KDA on the Varus, ran wild in the final fight securing a quadrakill to end the series 21-10.

Trebor finished with a 6-1-10 score line while Morris “Code” Raymundo, who subbed in for Heri “Tatsurii” Garcia for this game, also displayed his fine form with a 4-1-10 KDA on his Orianna in Game 2.
