Filipino fighter Rene Catalan and former world champion Alex Silva will clash in the Circle anew, eight years after their first showdown in ONE Championship.

The two strawweights will face each other in ONE: NEXTGEN III in a previously taped event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium which airs on Nov. 26.
Catalan hopes to enter the win column after suffering two straight losses at the hands of Team Lakay fighter and reigning strawweight champion Joshua Pacio and No. 2 contender Bokang Masunyane.
Prior to that, the 42-year-old Catalan rode on a six-match win streak from 2016 to 2019 which paved the way for a title shot against Pacio.
Silva, for his part, last saw action in August and scored a unanimous decision win over Chinese opponent Miao Li Tao.
Interestingly, Silva became Pacio’s next victim after Catalan as the Team Lakay stalwart won via split decision in January 2020.
Catalan holds a 6-4 mixed martial arts record while Silva owns a 10-6 slate.
Lito Adiwang of Team Lakay, also the current No. 5 contender, will hold his first main event in the promotion when he takes on American fighter Jarred Brooks in another highly anticipated strawweight showdown.
