The faceoff between Ray Parks Jr. and the debuting Dwight Ramos highlights another busy weekend for Japanese-based Filipino players in the B.League.

Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins battle Ramos and the winless Toyama Grouses in a two-game set which starts Saturday, Oct. 16 at 6:05 p.m. local time (5:05 p.m. Philippine time) at the Toyama City Gymnasium.

Toyama and Nagoya meet again the following day at a similar tipoff time.

Ramos has finally joined the Grouses after undergoing a mandatory quarantine following his arrival from Manila two weeks ago.

He is expected to be slowly integrated into the Toyama squad which hopes to turn things around after losing all of its first four games in the 2021-22 season.

Parks, on the other hand, could see more playing minutes after making his debut last week for the Diamond Dolphins, who carry a 1-3 record.

Kobe Paras, off to a strong start, and Niigata Albirex play another away series against Levanga Hokkaido at the Hokkai Kitayell. Their Saturday and Sunday meetings will both start at 2:05 p.m. (1:05 p.m. PH time).

Paras is perhaps the most impressive among the Filipinos in the Japanese league, averaging 16.8 points on 42-percent shooting with 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in four games that saw Niigata go 2-2.

Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix, also at 2-2, visit the Hiroshima Dragonflies for a pair of encounters which start at 1:05 p.m. (12:05 p.m. PH time) while older brother Kiefer looks to help the Shiga Lakestars improve their 3-1 record against the Kyoto Hannaryz at 6:05 p.m. (5:05 p.m. PH time) Saturday.

Kiefer and the Lakestars play the Hannaryz on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. (1:05 p.m. PH time).

Juan Gomez de Liano and the winless Earthfriends Tokyo Z play their first two home matches against the Sendai 89ers on Sunday and Monday.

Meanwhile, Javi Gomez de Liano, Kemark Carino and latest signee Matthew Aquino will not play this weekend for their respective teams.

Carino has completed his mandatory quarantine but is expected to not play for the Aomori Wat’s in the two second division matches with the Bambitious Nara.

Javi Gomez de Liano will still be out for the Ibaraki Robots in their home opener against the Utsunomiya Brex, who are reinforced by Indonesian national team mainstay Brandon Jawato.

Aquino, signed by the Shinshu Brave Warriors but as a Japanese player, has also been ruled out of the pair of games with Alvark Tokyo.
