Schrock’s scored the eventual winner in the 51st minute to put the Busmen one victory from claiming a historic berth in Asia’s premier club competition.
The star midfielder produced the only goal of the match when he sent a cross that hit Port keeper Worawut Srisupa, whose attempt to bat the ball away went futile.
Behind Schrock’s goal, Ceres earned the right to face FC Tokyo in next week’s playoff at the Ajinomoto Stadium in the Japanese capital.
It will be the second time that the Busmen reached the Champions League playoff round, losing to Tianjin Quanjian two years ago in China.
